planfahrt: Journey Time Analysis “Growing economic pressure forces us to exploit all potentials for operational rationalisation.” The Journey Time module in planfahrt means it’s no problem to track down unused potential. The journey time analysis makes it possible to check actual journey times as well as to determine the varieties, causes and breadth of operating failures. The data thus acquired is processed by planfahrt and summarised in representative charts. These identify potential for speeding up operations based on factors such as early departures, unscheduled stops, stops with closed or open doors without a change of passengers. Whenever critical areas are detected, improvement measures must be developed and tested in terms of benefit, cost and concrete recommendations for action. Naturally, Hamburg-Consult can become actively involved in providing support in this area, for instance with our innovative process to evaluate acceleration projects. Journey Time Analysis features - Breakdown of journey-specific data for any time period or location
- Speed profiles for routes and route sections
- Output of stop-specific early/late departures/arrivals, travel/journey times and speeds, dwell times etc.
- Delays at traffic lights and uncontrolled junctions
- Time series, comprehensively configurable
- Key route indicators summarised in tables
- Data export to MS Excel
Our added value for you (optional)
- Additions and enhancements to data from Intermodal Transport Control System (ITCS)
- Recommendations for optimisation of vehicle and staff deployment
- Recommendations for structural, operational and other measures at stops, junctions and en route
- Evaluation of each individual recommendation with benefit-cost indicator
- Weighting of routes and route clusters according to acceleration potential and investment requirement
- Negotiating aids such as efficiency of staff planning or number of vehicles that can be saved
- Prioritisation depending on cost of implementation and potential utilisation
